Lantern operating SNCF - Booty

Here is a rare lamp produced by Booty in the 50s, early 60's. It is apparently a last attempt loot to upgrade lanterns operating SNCF (symbol stamped on the top of the lamp). If, however, was referenced by the Service of Supply, it would have being very little controlled by different institution operating in direct competition with the electric lamp model 1961.

2 variants of the lamp LUXTYLENE

I present here two variants of the carbide lamp produced by the firm LUXTYLENE in the region of Béziers.

- The first version on the right is one I've presented here: http://lampeacarbure.blogspot.com/2008/12/lampe-carbure-de-lodeve.html , it is a lamp powered by a system of disposal of the fuel tank in the water tank. (To see the user guide, follow the link)

- The second version is left of a bill much more simple since exactly the same model except that instead of having a dip, we have a point'eau.

On the photograph of the middle, you'll notice the difference.

This model allows us to make 2 comments, however essential:
- The presence of an aluminum reflector would be in all series of lamps made for the City of Paris (I bought this lamp to a son 'sewer workers).
- Above the lamp KP was built with two different heights of glass: 5cm (see link) and 7.5 cm (this lamp one)
