October 7 Letter to "We've tried everything" broadcast on France 2
Goodnight,
I just watched your show on 20 June 2007 and I would write to you to comment on the subject which dealt with the sex identification of fetuses in the sixth week. Your guest talked about a test that is used in France only in cases of "diseases related to sex" and being intersex (more commonly known as hermaphrodites), I was shocked by the words used as intersex n ' is not a disease but a variability in morphology.
I also find it a pity that none of the columnists has discussed intersexuality as many abortions are performed on healthy children because doctors have intersex as a disease to parents.
Such abortions could lead to the disappearance of a population by its difference brings a wealth and calls into question the binary construct of gender and society.
Sincerely, Arthur
Cocteau
Representative for France OII (Organisation Intersex International)
